Chiayi County—

Located 50km north and south of Tropic of Cancer, at around an altitude of 1200 meters, Alishan(阿里山) is a good area to grow tea and one of the important mountain tea production areas in Taiwan.

Oolong(烏龍) and Jin Xuan(金萱) are planted in Alishan(阿里山). Besides, a specialty called Alishan Ju Lu Tea(阿里山珠露茶) is produced in Shih Jhao Tea Area(石棹茶區), Jhuci Town(竹崎鄉).

The female owner of Lin Yuan Tea Making Store(林園製茶), Mrs. Kuo, mentioned that the former vice president, Hsieh Tung-min(謝東閔) named this tea Ju Lu Tea(珠露茶) in 1987 because of the Ju Lu (literally meaning “dew”) on the veins.

Pick up the Ju Lu tea buds and make the tea in a special way. The tea leaves are green half ball-shape and the color of tea is honey green. Ju Lu Tea(珠露茶) smells graceful and tastes smooth.
