Er-Lin town in Changhua County is the important home of grapes in Taiwan. It has 140 hectares of grapes and has grown grapes for 40 years.

Golden Muscat
The Golden Muscat is a cross between European grapes and American grapes. It is a kind of wine grapes to produce the white wine. It is very sweet and seldom eatable. When ripe, a cluster of grapes are of medium round size. Each grape is juicy and fragrant, but its pericarp is too thin to store.

Golden Muscat and Si-Dou villiage
Golden Muscat was introduced in Si-Dou villiage by a businessman Ciou, Shen-jiang in the early 1961. Because of good weather, soil, and the irrigation of Jhuo-shuei River, Golden Muscat yielded well in Si-Dou villiage. So, many fruit farmers started to grow Golden Muscat instead of the tangerine. This condition made Si-Dou village to become a home of Golden Muscat. In 2004, the government allowed the application of legal Wine Villages. Since then, the fruit farmers could make wine at their houses.

Black Queen Muscat
The appearance of Black Queen Muscat is black and purple. A cluster of grapes are of medium round size. Seldom eatable, it is a kind of wine grapes to produce the red wine. After the Golden Muscat grown, the Black Queen Muscat started to be raised in Er-Lin town. When the Black Queen Muscat is ripe, it is shining purple or black.

在市面上我們一般喝的葡萄汁,吃得又紅又大顆粒的果肉,或許你會任出來那是巨峰葡萄,除了一般可食用的巨峰葡萄,你還知道葡萄有其他種類嗎?彰化縣二林鎮是全國葡萄重要產地,約140公頃的葡萄栽種面積,培植葡萄已有四十年歷史,來一趟彰化縣二林鎮,認識葡萄「事」,也做一趟生態知性之旅。

【金香葡萄】(Golden Muscat)
外觀:金香葡萄是二林葡萄的黃金作物,歐美雜交品種,一般釀酒用,如白葡萄酒,也可以和其他水果如蘋果或梅子一起釀造。甜度高,鮮少食用,成熟時,果穗大小中等,果實圓形,皮薄不耐儲藏,汁多果香,成熟時容易裂果。
●金香葡萄與西斗里
  民國五十年初期,永靖苗商邱深江把可釀酒「金香葡萄」引進彰化縣二林鎮,因土壤與氣候適合金香葡萄生長,加上有濁水溪水灌溉,強制剪枝技術(俗稱理光頭),種植出來葡萄品質好,產量高。原本以柳丁為主的西斗里,果農紛紛改重金香葡萄,使「金香葡萄」成為西斗里的發源地與主要產區。早期收成後由公賣局南投酒廠統一釀酒,與果農契作,後來供需失調,公賣局不再收購二林葡萄。民國九十一年政府因應WTO政策,鼓勵農民開發當地資源,發展農業精緻休閒化,九十三年開放果農申請合法酒庄,全國最大金香葡萄產區彰化二林鎮,果農於產地現採後,立即於自家酒庄釀造,新鮮度得以保存,釀出來的酒也果香十足。

【黑后葡萄】(Black Queen Muscat)
外觀:果實顏色呈黑紫色,果穗大小中等,果實小呈圓形,其果粒密集無空隙,很少用於鮮食,釀酒居多,葡萄紅酒都為黑后葡萄釀造,在二林地區黑后葡萄是隨著金香葡萄釀酒之後種植。
特色:黑后葡萄成熟期,黑的發紫,黑的發亮
