Among of other islets in East Sea of Penghu, Niaoyu Islet is considered as the biggest inhabited island and one of the most ultra-popular tourist destinations!
Heading to Niaoyu Islet, all you need to do is riding a ferry from Citou Harbour and the ferry ride takes about twenty minutes. Once the boat entering the pier, you can clearly see the islet is a traditional fish village. Many families will dry their fish on an open space under the baking sun. Sometimes, you may see local residents gathered in front their doorstep talking gossip, processing the catch, or playing board games. In recent years, Niaoyu Islet has gradually become the most popular island in the East Sea due to the input of tourism industries and the increase of a number of foreign ships.

For instance, the basalt formation on Dinggouyu Islet looks very strange, but the basalt wall on Niaoyu Islet, also known as “The Grand Canyon on the Sea” is considered as the wonder.
