Donghe Village in Nanjhuang, Miaoli is a well-known region integrated with Hakka and aboriginal culture. If you walk along the steep hill wall and the running stream, you can strongly feel the uniqueness of Nanjhuang. Walking on the greenery you easily indulge in the tranquil and carefree atmosphere; sometimes you can even hear the respiratory rhythm of the earth, the chirping of birds and insects or the unidentified pleasant sound of the nature.
In the wood and mountainous area of Donghe, it had also covered in a mysterious color in the past. Shensiangu (Fairy Valley) has been recognized as a sacred land by the local Atayal people. Shensiangu is a very steep and dangerous valley. Due to the gap formation created by the multi-layered flow, the steep wall creates numerous large and small waterfalls. Over the past few years, tourists wouldn’t be able to enter this area until the last two years because of the construction and a number of factors. After Sanshan National Scenic Area Administration rearranged the place and set up hiking trails, pavilion and suspension bridge, visitors now can easily appreciate the beauty and the magnificence of Shensiangu. Shensiangu in recent year has become one of the most well-known tourist attractions in Nanjhuong.
