(TraNews) – Yanshui Township in Tainan has the custom of shooting off beehive firework. The renowned event has attracted tens of thousands of people each year. People enjoy situating in the thrilling and exciting venue with firework shooting off close by.
Legend has it that in Qing dynasty, Yuanshui area was suffered under major plague. Local people were panicked about the fearful disease. Therefore, local businessmen had beseeched Guangong, one of the respectful God in Taiwan, for a tour of procession on Lantern Festival. Surprisingly, the plague was soon receded and people went back to peaceful life. As for the word “beehive” refers to people piling up numerous of fireworks all together and they shaped like a enormous beehive.
