TAINAN, TAIWAN (TraNews) – Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan and was the ancient capital of the island during the imperial times from 1662 until 1887 under Chinese supervision. Tainan is renowned for its history, temples, historic buildings and traditional snacks. The city’s complex history of comebacks, redefinitions and renewals, as well as massive plantation of Royal Poinciana (dlonix regia) inspired its popular nickname “City of the Phoenix.”
