(TraNews) – Namasha in Kaohsiung City is renowned for precious wood resource, friendly aboriginal people and the hometown of fireflies. If you are still confused of where Namasha is, maybe this will enlighten you. The place suffered from great trauma because of Typhoon Morakot. After the that, only few tourists have paid visits to the region.
Namasha is one of the 3 mountain townships in Kaohsiung City. The locals live in the region under withdrawn and joyful. Every year from March to June is the season of fireflies and from April to May is the season of peach.
Roaming on the walking trail will allow you seeing tons of sparkling fireflies; or you can savor sweet and succulent peaches. There is even an elementary school in the region that has been reported by National Geographic Channel for its eco awareness. The building in the school is built upon sustainable concept.
Though Typhoon Morakot had brought so much inconvenient and damage for the region, locals have never given up but possessed positive attitude. The best way to encourage local people might be paying more visits to Namasha and purchase some local farming goods.
