Changhua County, Taiwan –
Futian Community Tung blossom ecological park was originally a chicken farm in the past. Under two years of development and construction, the community built two new hiking trails. Walking along the trails, you can enjoy a rich ecological environment. Especially in the early summer of April and May, heavy rains will wash down snowy white Tung blossom onto the ground. When you stand on the ground covered with white petals, it feels just like snowing in May!
Futian Community is situated on County Highway No.139 heading to Nantou direction of 20.6 kilometres. This ecological park was an abandoned chicken farm two years ago. For the sake of making this place work, the residents all worked together to accomplish the construction of the entire ecological park.
In the ecological park, friends and family can have a great fun here. Such as art center, fountain, alocasia plaza, Tung blossom station, firefly preserved area, horned beetle preserved area and so on are fascinating recreation facilities with both educational and leisure functions.
Furthermore, the community residents will use citronella, osmanthus and rose petals found in the park to produce handmade natural soaps. Plus, tourists can also purchase dried longan at art centre as local specialty souvenir in May and June.
In addition, unlike any regular eggs, pure brown eggs selling at Futian Community tastes chewier and better since the free-range hens have a higher activity. Once pure brown eggs are rolled out, they will be sold out pretty fast!
In April and May, it is Tung blossom blooming season. Whether you would like to take picture or just to appreciate the beauty of Tung blossom, it is strongly recommended that tourists can come in the morning.
