HUALIEN, TAIWAN (TTNews) – Winter is the most perfect season to take a cycling trip in Hualien, wandering around in the labyrinth of streets and alleys and enjoying the charm of pastoral scenery. Ji-an Township is neighbored with Hualien City. Ji-an is famed for its tranquil environment and rich in history and cultural sites. In recent years, the township office has been actively engaged in promoting local tourism and has set up the cycling route system. It not only offers the locals more opportunities to take part in recreational activities, but it also provides cyclists an alternative location for riding a bike.
Ji-an Township cycling route system includes a total of three bikeways: Cinshui Bikeway, Cinshan Bikeway and Chuying Bikeway.
Cinshui Bikeway is situated next to Cijiaochuan River, also known as Ji-an River, which is located between Meirun River and Mugua (Papaya) River, running through Ji-an Township and Hualien City, and then pouring into Pacific Ocean. Nearby tourist attractions include Sheng-an Temple, Sunlight Hiking Trail, Xiangyang Hiking Trail and Fahuashan Cihui Shrine.
Cinshan Bikeway is located next to the mountain ranges, starting from Dashan Bridge in Cingfong Village and ended in Hualien pine forests. The length of the bikeway is about 5.1 kilometers, along with breathtaking pastoral scenery. In the meantime, travelers can also visit nearby scenic spots, including monuments, shrines, leisure farms, Maple Tree Trail and White Cloud Hiking Trail.
Chuying Bikeway is characterized by Chuying Power Plant’s clean water quality, connecting to Nahua Village Activity Centre and Blackboard Tree Green Tunnel with a total length of 1.6 kilometers. Along the way, travelers will be able to visit a number of well-known tourist attractions, such as Chuying Ecology Park, Jyuda Herb SPA Resort, Lotus City Lotus Plaza, etc.
