By TTNews Reporter Hsiao, Shang-Hua HUALIEN, TAIWAN (TTNews) – If you would like to stay away from the city, the madding crowd and all the noise and to experience a spiritual and intellectual journey, all you need to do is coming to Pine Garden Park in Hualien. The entire park possesses rich natural ecology, historical buildings, arts and culture. Its tranquil and laid-back surrounding atmosphere allows visitors to pleasantly enjoy their time here. Pine Garden was built in 1943, formerly known as the office of Hualien Harbor Military Command Centre. There is an abundance of pine trees scattered in the park, which is why it is called “Pine Garden”. Walking into the tranquil park, the ocean observation deck can be seen on the left side, where visitors can get a panoramic view of Pacific Ocean, Hualien Harbor and Meirun River. Pine Garden was designed to provide the venue for hosting all kinds of art exhibitions, public forums, art lectures, handicraft DIY activities, summer camps and more. It is also worth mentioning that there is a marsh ecosystem pond located in the rear of the building, consisting of approximately 60 kinds of aquatic plant and animal species. In addition, a delicate and elegant workshop situated inside the building features a dazzling collection of handicrafts, postcards, colored glaze, creative clothing and more for sale. If you have a chance visiting this place, don’t forget to bring home with some creative and novel keepsakes.
