Tartes à TaTa which is near Puli’s Ailan Bridge and New Era Art Resort and Spa is a lovely and distinctive restaurant. The hostess, Mei-Wei, is the local and returned Puli with her French husband Andre a year ago to open this French cuisine restaurant for customers to enjoy authentic homemade Alsatian dishes.
Andre learns to make Pizza and Tartes from his aunty and in order to thank his aunty, the restaurant is named “Tartes à TaTa” which means Aunty’s Tartes, said Mei-Wei.
The biggest feature of Tarte flambée is to make the Tarte base by sour cream and the dough that is fermented the day before, topped with varieties of ingredients and baked at a high temperature in the conventional way to have the crispy crust and retain the irresistible rich and fresh taste.
Mei-Wei and Chef Andre recommend some of signature dishes including Butter & Parsley Chicken Pie, Rural Beef & Potato Pizza, Pasta with Water Bamboo Mushroom Cream Sauce and Marinated Chicken Thigh with Alsatian sauerkraut.
