By TraNews Reporter Shih, Ching-Yi TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan (TraNews) – The enormous success of the talent show in recent years provides the stage for talented performers to perform and compete. A teen boy band from the United States, "Beyond 5", is a group of five boys that were chosen from a competition, similar to that of 'American Idol', that saw 300 young men taking part across 40 states in the USA and several foreign countries. The "Beyond 5" group would run 23 free concerts, open to the public, during their Asia tour.

"Beyond 5" is a group of five super-talented boys aged 14 to 18 who will run eight concerts across Taiwan, which is invited by Taiwan churches and city and county governments, performing their songs from Aug 23 to 29. "Beyond 5" began their tour in Mongolia on Aug 2 and then travelled down to Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Malaysia and then to Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong and will be in Taiwan on Aug 23 for a week.

The group is the brainchild of popular music composer and producer, Tyler Castleton, who has co-written songs for famous musicians such as country music superstar Martina McBride, legendary music icon Gladys Knight and entertainer Marie Osmond. He’s composed scores for National Geographic, Animal Planet and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. "The root for me is the excitement and energy that comes from great music," Castleton said. "Then you have a magical thing that can happen. This group has that magic!"

Castleton and fellow "Beyond 5" producer, Russ Dixon, also an accomplished songwriter and record producer, are very excited to bring this new band to Asia prior to the group’s extensive fall tour through the United States. In addition to the free concerts, the group is also partnering with Make a World of Difference Foundation, providing 12,000 free books for underprivileged children in support of local charities in the host nations.
